The jury will be led by Debbie Millman, Steven Heller, Jessica Deseo, Nick Ace, and Zac Petit.

  • Jessica Deseo is a native Southern Californian and Mexican-American designer with extensive experience in the design industry since 2005. Throughout her career, she has worked hands-on with a wide array of notable brands. Jessica is a former partner at The Dieline and currently serves as an Associate Professor at the ArtCenter College of Design, where she teaches Packaging 2 and Packaging 3, with a strong emphasis on sustainable packaging design.

    In addition to her teaching role, Jessica leads her own firm, CoolWish, where she helps clients with their creative operations and internal communications. She is also a Partner and Creative Director at PRINT Magazine and the PRINT Awards.

  • Nick Ace is an award-winning Armenian American designer, filmmaker and the Chief Creative Officer at COLLINS. He believes that the best ideas emerge in conversation. When we open ourselves up, trust each other, listen to each other and take time to understand each other, only great things can happen.

    Simply put, the unlikely collisions of our most authentic selves often create a perfect climate for invention. Nick is equally at home with artists as he is with CEOs and has brought his collaborative work ethic to a wide array of clients from Lou Reed to Google to Tiffany’s. Nick’s many accolades include “Mind blowing” [MTV], “The future of music videos” [Forbes] “Groundbreaking” [Vice] “Ahead of the curve. He has perfected a technique for hiding in plain sight.” [Design Observer] His work has been featured in business, culture, and style media including Forbes, Fast Company, Vice, Pitchfork, Refinery29, and Design Observer, among others.

    Prior to joining COLLINS, Nick was the Creative Director for international fashion and art magazine FRANK. In addition to managing FRANK, he led work for Toyota and William Grant & Sons where they found creative opportunities to bring the brands to street culture and vice versa. Other clients Nick has worked with include Cash App, Ford Motor Company, Human Rights Foundation, Matador Records, and HBO.

  • Zachary Petit is an independent journalist who has been writing about the arts and design for more than 15 years. He is a contributing writer at Fast Company and a contributing editor at PRINT, where he also previously served as editor-in-chief of the National Magazine Award-winning publication. Over the years his words have also appeared in Smithsonian, Eye on Design, Mental_Floss, National Geographic, National Geographic Kids, Writer’s Digest and many other outlets, and his new book about Modest Mouse’s improbable masterpiece The Moon & Antarctica is out in November.

  • Steven Heller is co-chair of SVA MFA Design / Designer as Entrepreneur. The author/editor/coauthor of over 200 book on design and culture, his columns have appeared in the NY Times, Wired, The Atlantic and ILOVETYPOGRAPHY. Steve is PRINTmag.com’s Editor-at-Large.

  • Named “one of the most creative people in business” by Fast Company, and “one of the most influential designers working today” by Graphic Design USA, Debbie Millman is also an author, educator, curator, and podcast pioneer. Debbie is host of the Webby award-winning podcast Design Matters, one of the first and longest running podcasts in the world; Chair of the first-ever Masters in Branding Program at the School of Visual Arts, Co-owner and Editorial Director of PrintMag.com, and the author of seven books on design and branding. She has worked on the design and strategy of over 200 of the world’s largest brands. Debbie is the recipient of a Cooper Hewitt National Design Award and a Lifetime Achievement award from AIGA, the Professional Association for Design.
